Dr. Mini Mamak

Dr. Mini Mamak is a Psychologist, licensed to practice in the province of Ontario since 1999. Dr. Mamak is the Founder and Managing Director of Solid Blue Support.  Her designated area of specialty is in the area of Forensic Psychology, which can be described as a sub-specialty in Psychology that provides consultation and expertise whenever a psychological or mental health concern is an issue in a legal context.

Dr. Mamak has extensive experience providing consultation and support to police agencies as well as, other public and private organizations.   She has provided assessment, training and consultation in the areas of threat assessment, crisis intervention, and hostage/barricaded situations.  She is routinely called upon to assist police negotiators and incident commanders during barricaded situations.   Dr. Mamak has also provided wellness sessions to police members assigned to high risk units and she has provided individual private therapy to police officers and first responders.  

 Dr. Mamak is currently the Senior Psychologist with the Forensic Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, West Fifth Campus, in Hamilton, Ontario and she holds a faculty appointment with the Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences Program at McMaster University. She is a member of the board of advisory for the Canadian Critical Incident Association and she holds an appointment with the Ontario Review Board.  Dr. Mamak’s curriculum vita is available on request.  

Dr. Gary Chaimowitz

Dr. Gary Chaimowitz is a Psychiatry Consultant at Solid Blue Support. Dr. Chaimowitz has over 30 years of experience in clinical practice providing assessment, treatment, training, and consultation to the legal system and to public and private organizations.  He holds specialty in the area of Forensic Psychiatry and has been granted Forensic Psychiatry Founder Status by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.  He has a MBA from the University of Toronto and is a Certified Physician Executive (American College of Physician Executives).  And, he has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the Canadian Psychiatric Association and American Psychiatric Association.

At present, Dr. Chaimowitz is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences and the Forensic Division Head at McMaster University.  He is also the Head of Service for the Forensic Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton.

In addition to the above, Dr. Chaimowitz holds a number of professional appointments.  He is the Co-Chair of the Ontario Forensic Directors Group, Chair of the Forensic Psychiatry Specialty Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Chair of the Psychiatry Section of the Ontario Medical Association.  Dr. Chaimowitz is also the President of the Medical Staff Association at St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Vice-Chair of the Ontario Consent and Capacity Board.  And, he is on the Council of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. Dr. Chaimowitz is also appointments with the Ontario and Nunavut Review Boards.

Jenifer Mulock

Ms. Jenifer Mulock is a Psychometrist with Solid Blue Support.  She holds a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Under the Supervision of Dr. Mamak, she has provided psychological services to both public and private organizations for the past 12 years.  Ms. Mulock has particular interests in police psychology, workplace violence, risk assessment, and addiction behaviours.

Katelyn Mullally

Ms. Katelyn Mullally is the Research and Development Coordinator at Solid Blue Support. Ms. Mullally holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ryerson University and is currently enrolled in the MA/PhD program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Guelph. She has a key interest in evidence based practice and has assisted Solid Blue Support in the development of best practice initiatives in the treatment of psychological issues faced by police and first responders. Ms. Mullally is also provides key knowledge translation services at Solid Blue Support.

Jacqueline Lau

Jacqueline Lau Headshot

Ms. Jacqueline Lau is a registered psychotherapist at Solid Blue Support. She provides evidence-based psychological services under the supervision of Dr. Mini Mamak. Ms. Lau holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Western University. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families who present with psychological concerns and providing consultation in community and school settings. In working collaboratively with individuals to tailor treatment to their needs, Ms. Lau integrates psychological treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems in her practice.
